I got my dress from NY at a store called Necessary Clothing. I paired it with some nude patent pumps from heels.com.
ACCESSORIES
I kept the jewelry simple but still holiday inspired with a little bit of bling. You can either go for a simple tear drop look and keep it classy.
Or go for a little bit of sass with some blingy hoops.
I added some stacked bracelets but nothing too bulky or blingy, since I wanted the dress to make most of the statement.
HAIR
I kept my hair simple and straight, letting the fringe (bangs) make their own statement I sprayed a little bit of my favorite spray in the whole world - Oribe Dry Texture Spray, to give it a little bit of edge and grip, I didn't want it to be too perfect or smooth. My dress has a lot going on so I didn't want to over due it with hair drama and everything else. Here's what I used pre-blowdry:
ORIBE Foundation Mist all over to detangle and prep the hair. Maximista at the roots and ends. Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse all over, squirt the size of a golf ball in your palm, massage thru hands and evenly through hair. Squeeze a quarter size dallop of Gel Serum into palm and distribute through ends, crown and roots.
Finishing with ORIBE Dry Texture Spray and Superfine Strong Hair Spray.
MAKE UP
I use all sorts of brands of make up, I believe every brand - well most brands, have a purpose in their own way. I used MAKE UP FOREVER FULL COVERAGE Concealer for concealing, highlighting and contouring. I used a mix of 1 & 8 for concealing and highlighting, 18 for contouring. MAKE UP FOREVER HD INVISIBLE COVER FOUNDATION. To set the foundation I used MAKE UP FOREVER DUO MAT POWDER FOUNDATION mixing a little bit of 205 & 207 together. Now since I dab here and there with this and that brand, I'm just going to list the majority of the basics I used.
For my gold eyeshadow I used this fantastic mineral pigmented line from PURE LUXE COSMETICS, this line is something great! Even though it's a mineral line the pigments in this are really strong, I love it. I use their face powder and eyeshadows on a daily basis.
The blush and highlight I got from CROWN BRUSH, their brushes are amazing. I used their flat head duo bronzer brush to blend in my concealer, highlight and contouring. Next, I used their duo fiber brush to apply my face powder, blush and bronzer and I have never seen such an airbrushed looking finish on me.
I didn't have time to paint my nails but I was planning on wearing some gold nail polish.
I had self tanned almost every night before the party with St. Tropez Foaming Mousse, you really have to use the buffer mit - it really makes a difference. The day of the party I went to Desert Sun and got a Clear 2 bronzing coat to even everything out. I felt pretty fantastic about it, very soft and natural - not orange at all. With a white dress it is essential to get a little color if your not living in a tropical climate, being pasty looking with a majority looking white dress, especially with gold, can really make you look washed out. No bueno.
Instead of lotion I used Johnson & Johnson gel oil with shea and cocoa butter to get a little sheen on the skin showing. Then dusted some Jane Iredale 24K Gold Powder over that to get a little Sumthin' Sumthin' - as Maxwell would say.
It was great fun putting this look together, especially with my BF. Hope this look helps any of you looking for some holiday inspiration.
Have a great week everyone and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
XOXO
